With the arrival of cold weather, snowguns have fired up in four New England states as ski areas scramble to open for Thanksgiving weekend operations.

Killington has been in continuous operation since October 25 and will be skiing top to bottom off the K1 gondola starting tomorrow.

Bretton Woods, the only other area to operate in New England thus far, reopened today. Loon plans to join Bretton Woods as the only New Hampshire areas operating on Wednesday.
Four Vermont areas will join Killington on the open list Wednesday: Okemo, Mount Snow, Stowe, and Sugarbush.

Sunday River plans to start its season on Wednesday, its latest opening day in at least a dozen years.
