According to a Vermont Public Radio report, Killington has received confirmation that it will be hosting Women's World Cup races in November 2016.

The Thanksgiving weekend event will include women's giant slalom and slalom races on the Superstar trail. FIS Women's World Cup Tour Director Atle Skaardal conducted a site inspection on September 23.

Killington has been improving snowmaking capabilities on Superstar, which is often the last lift served ski trail open in New England each spring.

The last World Cup race hosted in New England took place at Waterville Valley in March of 1991.
