The Beast Mountain Coaster is the sixth in New England

Killington's newest year round attraction debuted on Saturday, as the Beast Mountain Coaster opened to the public.
Located in the Snowshed complex, the 4,800 foot coaster operates at speeds up to 25 miles per hour. The entire track is located in private property, climbing about 300 vertical feet to about 2,550 feet in elevation. The coaster is Vermont's second, following Okemo, and the first to open in New England since Berkshire East's Thunderbolt in 2014.
In addition to the mountain coaster, Killington's new Snowshed Adventure Center includes a Soaring Eagle-like Skyeride, a ropes course, and chairlift served mountain biking.
The mountain coaster helps fill a void created with the closure of Pico's alpine slide in 2011.
