Ragged Mountain Resort and the adjacent developable land have been placed on the market, as CBRE Golf & Resort is offering the 1,900 acre ski area and adjacent residential property together or separately.
Located in Danbury, New Hampshire, Ragged Mountain is owned by entities controlled by Douglas Anderson, former chairman of Pacific Group Resorts Inc. Anderson is still a director of Pacific Group Resorts, which manages the resort. Pacific Group Resorts owns and operates Jay Peak in Vermont, as well as several other areas in North America.
RMR-Pacific LLC acquired Ragged Mountain in May 2007. Notable improvements since the acquisition include the Spear Mountain Express Quad in 2014 and a new snowmaking pond two years later. An associated EB-5 program has dealt with at least two lawsuits, claiming projects including a hotel were not constructed. Attempts over the years to diversify beyond skiing have been unsuccessful, leading to abandonment of the golf course and tubing facility.
Originally opened in 1965, Ragged Mountain features terrain for all abilities with an advertised vertical drop of 1,250 feet served by a high speed six pack, high speed quad, fixed grip triple, and multiple surface lifts.
