From the base to the summit, construction is in full swing at Gunstock Mountain Resort. After stabilizing management and oversight following last summer's drama, the Belknap County owned and operated resort is executing a $5.85 million capital budget.
Work is now underway on paving the main parking lot. The project is being financed by $1.3 million of American Rescue Plan Act funds, the largest allocation by Belknap County at the time of approval in May 2022. When complete, the lot is expected to have 622 spots.
Just above the parking lot, a major renovation of the Stockade Lodge is in progress. Originally slated for 2022, the project was delayed due to the Gunstock Area Commission turmoil. The lodge will now feature full-service dining and a deck.
Behind the Stockade Lodge, a new 67 foot by 24 foot rental and tuning shop is being constructed to improve beginner access to the slopes. The separate structure will mirror an addition constructed in 2021.
Work on a septic system on the summit has been completed and the foundation for a 16 foot by 30 foot addition to the Panorama Pub has been poured. The summit lodge will feature enhanced food and beverage options.
