Boyne's proliferation of 8 person chairlifts continues, as the company announced today that it will be installing one at Sunday River next year. The company is installing an 8 person chairlift at Loon this year. NewEnglandSkiIndustry.com News reported last month that the line for the new Sunday River lift has been staked.

The Jordan 8 will be a Doppelmayr high speed detachable 8 person bubble chair with extra-wide heated seats. The lift is engineered to reduce wind-holds, an issue that has plagued the outgoing 1994 Doppelmayr high speed quad. That chairlift will relocated to replace the Barker Mountain Express in 2023. Both projects are part of the Sunday River 2030 Plan announced last year.

The lift will be Boyne's fourth brand new chairlift at Sunday River since acquiring the resort in 2007. The new lift may eventually provide access to new terrain in Sunday River's "Western Reserve" area.
