Sunday River's new Merrill Hill complex is taking shape as summer comes to a close.

Work continues on the western trail, which will lead skiers back to the new lift. Excavation of the other trails was already in progress earlier this summer.

Towers are now standing for the new Doppelmayr triple chairlift. The 500 vertical foot lift runs from the junction of Ridge Run and Second Thoughts to an area east of Merrill Hill's 1,914 foot ledgy summit.

Meanwhile, tower locations have been staked for a proposed Jordan Quad replacement. Part of the Sunday River 2030 expansion, the new lift is expected to have increased capacity and reduced wind vulnerability. If the project moves forward, the Jordan Quad could potentially be relocated to another part of the mountain.
