In a Wednesday afternoon press release, Sunday River announced a planned October 19, 2015 opening, pending weekend snowmaking production. The current NOAA Bethel forecast shows snowmaking temperatures arriving Saturday night.

The resort plans to have the upper T2 trail open, served by the Locke Mountain Triple. Lift ticket prices are expected to be set at $29.

If conditions cooperate, Sunday River expects to operate on weekend days through mid-November.

The projected opening would be Sunday River's earliest since October 14, 2009. The area opened on November 3 last season.
