Stowe New Quad Installation in Progress
Construction is underway at Stowe on a new beginner quad chairlift on Spruce Peak.
Tuesday, September 2, 2014, NewEnglandSkiIndustry.com

As reported in NewEnglandSkiIndustry.com in July, Stowe is replacing the Alpine and Easy Street double chairlifts with a new fixed grip quad chairlift. The Easy Street Double has been removed, while only a few towers remain from the Alpine Double.

Concrete tower footings have been poured for the new 1,645 foot long fixed grip quad, which will follow a modified alignment of the Alpine Double. A loading carpet may also be installed.

Stowe has yet to formally announce the project or the manufacturer. The 1991 Poma Gondola is currently being rebuilt. Poma's most recent installation at Stowe took place in 2006, while Doppelmayr's was in 2011.
