With the first measurable snowfall of the season here, construction at Waterville Valley's Green Peak continues, in hope of having the new trail complex open in December.
Following the end of logging operations a month ago, the focus has moved toward excavation and lift relocation.
Novice trails 51 and 53, as well as the upper portion of intermediate trails 52 and 57, have been excavated and smoothed. An interlocking 4" snowmaking pipeline is being assembled on novice trail 51, leading from a valve atop Upper Valley Run to the top of Green Peak.
Work also continues on the relocation of the World Cup Triple. Summit and base footings were poured on Green Peak in recent weeks, while excavation and blasting prep work continue on the lift line. Existing towers, which were painted last month, are now being taken down and staged.
