In an April redevelopment project update, Camden Snow Bowl General Manager Landon Fake announced the year two base lodge project has been postponed until 2016. Recently released renderings suggest the lodge has been reduced in size.
Phase 1 of the redevelopment project started in 2014 and was to be composed of trail improvements, snowmaking expansion, new night skiing lighting, installation of a triple chairlift, and relocation of the double chairlift. While the debut was planned for before Christmas, the project fell significantly behind schedule, resulting in a January 29 opening with only one chairlift. 145 season passes were refunded. The project, funded in part by $2 million of town bonds, is $1.2 million over budget.
2015 plans now consist of completing the double chairlift, improving parking, and doing a significant amount of earth work on the mountain.
