New triple chairlift now operational after weeks of delays.

After weeks of delays, Camden Snow Bowl was able to open their new triple chairlift on Thursday, January 29. Originally slated for a pre-Christmas opening, installation of the refurbished lift (purchased from Shawnee Peak) was slowed by an aggressive timeline and subpar weather. The completion of the double chairlift has been postponed until the 2015-16 season.
The first year of the two year, $6.5 million redevelopment project was to include new terrain, snowmaking infrastructure, night skiing, and the installation of two chairlifts. NewEnglandSkiIndustry.com reported in mid-November that the projected December 20, 2014 opening day was unlikely due to delays. Mechanics from Sugarloaf were recently dispatched to help with the triple chairlift installation.
From an e-mail blast: While we initially thought that the Snow Bowl triple lift would not be running until January 31st, our final testing and safety checks went particularly smoothly. As a result, that lift will be operational a bit earlier than we thought - on Thursday, January 29th. Please come explore and enjoy the mountain starting on Thursday evening. We know this is no consolation for the long delay of a full opening this year, but we hope that the wait will feel worth it when you see the Snow Bowl improvements. Thank you for your patience.
