In the latest of a multi-million dollar series of investments, the owners of Berkshire East Mountain Resort have purchased the Warfield House Inn at Valley View Farm.
Located on a hill across from the ski area, the facility includes a restaurant, 12 guest rooms, a farm, and 530 acres of land. According to the Greenfield Recorder, the working farm was established in 1873 and more recently was transferred to Jeffrey Glaze after the death of John Warfield Glaze in January 2014.
Owned by the Schaefers, 133 Warfield Realty LLC was registered as a Massachusetts LLC on September 11, 2014. On September 22, 2014, 133 Warfield Realty LLC purchased the Warfield House from the Jeffrey W. Glaze GST Trust for $972,700.
The acquisition is expected to help further boost Berkshire East's expansion into four season business. Work has started on a downhill mountain bike park, while construction is wrapping up on a new quad chairlift and mountain coaster.
