In what is New England's first new lift announcement of the year, Berkshire East has made public plans to install a new SkyTrac four person loading carpet chairlift. The first net new chairlift installed at Berkshire East in over 40 years, the quad will replace the Summit Triple. The bottom loading carpet design will allow for faster haul rope operation, transporting more skiers up the mountain in a shorter amount of time.
The Summit Triple chairlift is expected to be placed in storage for future use at the area.
In addition to the chairlift, Berkshire East has also announced it will be installing a Mountain Coaster to boost its successful off season ziplining business. The Mountain Coaster will be installed adjacent to the Lower Mohawk ski trail and is expected to be open before the end of the summer.
