Lift installations are in various stages of completion as a Thanksgiving snow storm blankets much of New England.
The haul rope has been spliced for Ski Sundown's new SkyTrac quad. Equipped with a loading carpet, the fixed grip lift replaces a 1977 Borvig triple.
Many hours to the north, Big Rock was the first installation completed this year. A new Doppelmayr fixed grip quad will serve the main mountain while the North Star Double, a 1970s Mueller, will remain in place in the interim. Other improvements at Big Rock this offseason include new snowmaking infrastructure and trail lighting.
Towers have been installed and the base footing poured for Chair 3 at Lost Valley. Previously installed at Mt. Southington in 2001, the Hall double was originally constructed at Craigmeur, New Jersey in 1976. The chairlift is being installed on the Coyote trail, which was previously a T-Bar line. The complex consists of three advanced trails which will be augmented with snowmaking and lights to provide additional space for racing and terrain park features.
The haul rope for Pleasant Mountain's new high speed quad was spliced earlier this month. The former Sunday River Jordan Bowl Express has been significantly refurbished for the installation. The lift replaces the CTEC loading carpet Summit Express Triple, which was scrapped.
The haul rope has also been spliced for Sugarbush's new Heaven's Gate lift. The new Doppelmayr fixed grip quad will be augmented with a loading carpet and regraded top terminal area.
