As the leaves fall in Southern Vermont, ski season is only weeks away. Crews are continuing to work at Mount Snow and Magic Mountain to complete 2022 lift installations.
Black Line Quad - Magic Mountain
Magic's Black Line Quad construction is currently focused on the upper mountain, as a modified sheave assembly is to be installed. Construction commenced on the refurbished Poma fixed grip quad (from Stratton's Snow Bowl) in 2019, only to be delayed by COVID-19 shutdowns and engineering issues. Apart from the sheave train work, towers are being grouted and chair safety bars are awaiting installation. The lift is expected to be ready for the winter.
Sundance Six - Mount Snow
Mount Snow's new Sundance Six is nearing completion, as crews prepared to unspool the haul rope this morning. The Doppelmayr high speed six pack replaces two fixed grip triples.
Heavy Metal Triple - Mount Snow
Chairs from the removed lifts have been installed on the former Heavy Metal Double at the Carinthia complex.
Sunbrook Quad - Mount Snow
Meanwhile, the Sunbrook Quad base terminal and towers are standing. Only the pedestal is in place for the summit terminal of the Doppelmayr high speed quad.
All three lifts are expected to be ready for the winter.
