Inflation, increased demand, and mega-pass business models appear to be putting more upward pressure on retail ticket prices in Maine. Ticket prices have jumped by 9% as compared to last winter, and by 23% as compared to the winter of 2019-20.
The average weekend full day adult lift ticket at a chairlift-served ski area including tax and RFID fees is $73.27, a 9% increase as compared to $67.50 last year. The median price is $55, a 1% increase compared to last season.
All but two areas increased prices this season. Three ski areas have prices in excess of $100, with Saddleback crossing the threshold with a 32% increase this winter.
The most expensive full price ticket in the state is Sunday River, currently coming in at $139. The rate, which excludes early purchase discounts, is a 17% increase over last season.
The least expensive ticket in the state continues to be Big Squaw, which is holding at $30 as it awaits a potential acquisition and expansion.
