Lift Installation Projects Continue as Ski Season Approaches
Significant work remains before New England's two new chairlifts will be ready.

As some of the coldest temperatures of the fall came and went, construction continued on New England's two new chairlifts last week.

The base terminal of the Green Peak Triple at Waterville Valley is now in place, whilst the top terminal is being prepped in a parking lot. Forms are being removed from recently poured tower footings. No towers have been installed to date.

The Green Peak Triple is a Stadeli-Doppelmayr relocation being performed by SkyTrans. Advertised as serving 10 new trails this winter, the lift is the only installation serving new terrain in New England this season.

The Suicide Six lift line, November 11, 2016
Meanwhile, towers are standing at Suicide Six. Leitner Poma is installing a new fixed grip quad to serve the summit of the small Vermont ski area. The bottom drive terminal has yet to be completed.

No concrete work has been conducted to date at Whaleback. The small New Hampshire ski area is planning to install a Hall T-Bar this fall, serving lower mountain terrain.
