American lift manufacturer SkyTrac has been acquired by Leitner-Poma.

Leitner-Poma CEO Anton Seeber is quoted by Ski Area Management magazine as stating, "Like Leitner-Poma Group, Skytrac also will be managed autonomously and independently to make sure the Skytrac team can focus on its strengths and hone its skills, all while having access to the Group ́s resources to be able to benefit from particular synergies."

Headquartered in Salt Lake City, SkyTrac was founded by veteran lift manufacturers in 2010. SkyTrac Director of Sales Jan Leonard, former founder of CTEC lifts, passed away in 2015. The company continues to manufacture lifts and parts.

Three new SkyTrac lifts have been installed in New England since 2012, including the Summit Quad at Berkshire East and two quads at Haystack.

Leitner-Poma recently installed two new chairlifts at Okemo, including the Sun Burst Six bubble.

Three lift companies now remain selling "new" chairlifts in New England: Doppelmayr, Leitner-Poma-SkyTrac, and Partek.

There are no announced 2016 chairlift installations in New England at present.
