Thanks to the cooler temperatures at the start of the month, as well as a spring snowmaking push, seven New England ski areas are still expected to operate this weekend.
In addition, all but Stowe have at least hinted at the potential for May turns. If the six areas make it to May 1, it would be one of the largest May offerings in New England ski history (seven areas operated in May during the record 2014-15 season).
All areas have scaled back operating lifts, with Killington, Sugarloaf, Sunday River, and Wildcat down to just one lift each. Jay Peak, Stowe, Sugarbush, and Wildcat are still offering 2,000+ vertical feet of lift served skiing.
