According to WMUR's Escape Outside Facebook page, Senate Bill 30 passed today on a voice vote. The bill now goes to the House.

Filed by Senator Jeff Woodburn (D-Dalton), SB 30 would provide $25 million in state backed bonds of the $143 Phase 1 reopening of the Balsams Resort project, led by Les Otten. The $25 million figure was subsequently removed from the legislation. According to Senate President Chuck Morse, Otten is seeking $48 million public funding for the first phase. An estimated $25-$28 million would be backed by the State of New Hampshire with the passage of SB 30. Otten is reportedly contributing $1 million.

If funding is procured, construction could begin in June, with the intent of opening for the 2016-17 season.
