While Cranmore Mountain Resort had been hoping to start construction of its Kearsarge Brook project by fall 2014, it has formally delayed the project until spring 2015, citing delayed state approvals. Less than a week following the decision to delay construction, the approvals were received. The estimated completion date for the 18 unit first phase of the project has been moved from August 2015 to December 2015.
The first phase of the $50 million project comes on the heels of major on mountain improvements at Cranmore, including the replacement of two chairlifts and the installation of multiple off season attractions. The current ownership group purchased the ski area from Booth Creek in July of 2010. The group also manages Jiminy Peak in Massachusetts and Bromley in Vermont.
In addition to eventually adding 106 condominium units to the base area, the development project is also expected to nearly double base lodge space.
