Bucking the trend of $200 lift tickets, Storrs Hill will be offering free skiing this winter thanks to the support of the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation.
According to a post on the Lebanon Outing Club at Storrs Hill Facebook page this week, free skiing will be offered at the area on weekend days, Friday and Saturday evenings, and school vacation week afternoons.
According to general manager Cory Grant, "This project embodies the spirit of our community, providing an opportunity for everyone to enjoy the outdoors and experience the magic of winter sports. We hope this initiative brings neighbors together and inspires a love of skiing in a fun and accessible way."
Storrs Hill hopes to continue free skiing in future seasons if sponsors can be found. Veterans Memorial in Franklin has similarly provided free skiing via sponsorships in recent years.
Located off of Spring Street on the northern slope of Storrs Hill in Lebanon, New Hampshire, Storrs Hill ski area is one of the oldest lift-served operations in New England. The 300 vertical foot ski area features an open slope and three trails served by a Heron-Poma platter lift.
