Lift installations are in various stages as calendar summer arrives.
In Massachusetts, blasting has taken place as Berkshire East prepares to install its first high speed detachable chairlift. The Leitner-Poma quad will follow run up Competition, Upper Competition, and Avalanche, landing near the true summit of Mt. Institute.
In Maine, the summit of the Barker Mountain complex has been reworked as Sunday River prepares to install a new high speed detachable six pack. Doppelmayr will be installing this lift, as well as a second triple chairlift on Merrill Hill.
In Vermont, Magic Mountain is expecting to have its contractor on site starting July 1 to complete the Black Line Quad installation. Under construction since 2019, the refurbished Poma chairlift's punch-list includes tower alignment and the installation of a new haul rope.
In New Hampshire, site work continues as Attitash works to have a Leitner-Poma quad installed. The lift will be the area's third high speed quad, providing top-to-bottom access to the Attitash side.
Meanwhile, Loon's new Doppelmayr fixed grip quad on South Peak is already nearing completion, as towers and the base terminal are now standing. The new novice and intermediate terrain has been excavated.
